David Diaz

David Diaz specializes in strategic planning and implementation programs for business improvement districts and economic development agencies. He welcomes using his fluency in Spanish and his service in the military for added value to his consulting assignments. David’s experiences in Virginia and North Carolina Raleigh have enabled him to apply his successes and lessons learned and draw on a diverse portfolio of management and leadership experiences. In Roanoke, Virginia, Dave managed the development of a 20 year-land use plan that included an outreach campaign attracting over 3000 residents. As Assistant to the City Manager, Dave developed an affordable housing strategy and an arts and cultural strategy for the City of Roanoke.  Dave also led the Downtown Roanoke, Incorporated, the business improvement district.

HOW DAVID CAN HELP: As he did in Raleigh, North Carolina, Dave led the Downtown Raleigh Alliance ushering in a historic turnaround of the urban center while attracting over $3 billion in public and private investments. In Loudoun County, Virginia, Dave currently coordinates the a full-service economic development organization that is responsible for lead generation for a team that executes strategies for business attraction, retention and expansion, entrepreneurial growth, rural services and talent/workforce development. Lastly, Dave is a proud Army veteran who served a tour in Iraq receiving the Bronze Star. As Vice President of Regional Operations at The Mission Continues, Dave’s team activated over 20,000 veterans and community members in service projects across the United States.
